Post # 5: What to do / where to go in Santiago

Santiago is a strange city, you can expect anything, really, whatever what you can imagine!

Well, if you want make a travel in this place, you must eat something for take any calories, and the restaurants of the "Plaza de armas" exist all the calories that you want, with a lot of food, a lot of hot dogs, or enormous sandwiches for a little price, a very cheap idea. Later, you can stand up and go to walk a while for the street "huerfanos",there you'll see theatre, dance, music, religion, politic and social problems, that stree is like a X-ray of Chile, just walking you 'll know even the worst state of the young chileans.

Later, of walk and talk with any druk who have you found, go to "estación mapocho", where you can see that big place across this crazy city with an exhibition of a contemporary artist. Now, if you walk by bandera, you can go in a "café con piernas", an excelent place where you'll found the craftiness of chileans men, enjoying a coffe with dance and looking people who is really crazy for a girl! better than a starbucks. After that funny coffe, you can go to the "Mercado Central", a big place where you'll know tipical chilean food, and know "Donde Augusto", a place where a lot of famous people have eaten, you can feel like another!

For a relaxing place, you can go to "Quinta Normal", where you can remember the past walking in that jovial place, well..in a time, before the internet and this globalition that make them T.V and Capitalism Robots.. Now, there is a place where you can watch trains from the last century or know something about the chilean fauna, and enojy ( if you have good luck), any clown, but clown with a mixing from Europe (france in special) and Chile.

Too, you can go to the "Bellas Artes" Museum, where you can know the critical and the deep art of chilean people, full of image about the chilean society or global society, because the pictures, the photography and the words in chile, talk higher than the T.V.... the problem is that a lot of people want be deafs.

And in the night, you can go to Bellavista or the street republica, where you can know pub's, how
people enjoy this city, and relax before go to the bed.

Post # 3: Transantiago, before and after

The transantiago is the Chilean system of transport, and just like a lot of chilean innovations, this system is an imitation of another country, with a lot of buses from Brazil.. very very original.

Well, this system was bad implemented for impulsive chileans, the same that stand the bad education in Chile because their ideas are "win votes for give us bread" ( bread and circus for the poor), and ... well, any idea for make better the air pollution.

This is a simple system what use the new technology in the locomotion, using electronic cards in electronic collectors, giving more tranquility to the drivers of the bus because they don't need collect or figth with the passengers. And for the routes, the technology use GPSs, more hidraulic systems and buses more ergonomic, for all people (even handicapped person).

The system is at its most, for a lot of reasons what make the trip really unpleasant, fot the smells, the suffocating air and the uncomfortable in the peak hours.. but, in the buses don't exist so much thefts, because there isn't place for do it, i think that is a good point.

In my chase, the transantiago give me the possibility of don't lose so much money for every way of transport that i take, for the long distance what i must cover for go to the university. Too, the Transantiago reduce the possibility of being attacked in the nigth, because the line is shorter than the past, when a trip was around San bernardo, Pte Alto, La La Florida, a trip of the death!!

I think that the problem is the excess of population in Santiago, the State must make reforms doing better place for study in city don't called "Santiago", where people who want study, must go to Santiago and live there, and too the people don't want go away from Santiago, and that is obvusly if in another place don't exist a similar way of life... I want maintain the natural chilean culture, the porotos and the clean air in the south of Chile, but i think that if we put place similar than santiago, like the same oportunity of job, schools, universitys, pubs, or malls ( obvusly inplace where the impact don't be so hard), i think that we can distribute chilean population in all the country, decressing the excess of problems in Santiago and increassing the oportunitys in the others regions.
